The Belfast Giants are pleased to announce the signing of 26-year-old Mason Klee for the 2026/27 season.
From Morrison, Colorado, the 6’2” defenceman arrives in Belfast following a strong season with the Odense Bulldogs, during which he contributed 32 total points in 66 appearances in all competitions. Before making the move to Europe, Klee played two seasons of ECHL and AHL hockey with the Worcester Railers and San Jose Barracuda, recording 29 total points in 83 games.
Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Mason is a solid two-way defenceman who will add some size to our blue line this season. He's capable of playing on both sides of the puck, and he's another right-shot that is hard to come by these days. Mason comes from a great hockey family and is highly recommended by all his past coaches. He will be a great fit here in Belfast.”
Before turning professional, Klee played four seasons of NCAA for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Ohio State University between 2019 and 2024, tallying 21 total points in 126 appearances for the Engineers and Buckeyes.
Commenting on joining the Belfast Giants, Mason Klee said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to sign with the Belfast Giants. The club has a proud history, passionate fans, and a winning culture. I’m very excited to put on the jersey, playing in front of The O2 Belfast crowds, and help the team have a successful season.”
