Brand Asset Usage Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

By accessing or using Belfast City Council’s Fleadh Friendly brand assets including logos, bunting, posters, digital graphics, photography, social media templates, and any other promotional materials, you agree to comply fully with these Terms & Conditions.

These terms apply to all participating businesses, organisations, and partners who wish to promote themselves as Fleadh Friendly.

 

2. Permission to Use Assets

  • Belfast City Council grants participating businesses a non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable licence to use Fleadh Friendly assets solely for the purpose of promoting their business during the Fleadh.
  • Assets may only be used as provided, without alteration, distortion, or modification unless explicitly permitted in the brand guidelines.
  • Use of assets does not imply endorsement by Belfast City Council or Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.

 

3. Brand Guidelines Compliance

All businesses must follow the official Fleadh Brand Guidelines, including rules relating to:

  • correct logo usage
  • colour palettes and typography
  • placement, spacing, and scale
  • approved messaging and tone of voice
  • co‑branding with business logos or third‑party marks

Failure to comply may result in immediate withdrawal of permission to use assets.

 

4. Code of Conduct Requirements

Businesses promoting themselves as Fleadh Friendly must uphold the values of the Fleadh, including:

  • creating a welcoming, inclusive environment
  • respecting cultural traditions and community sensitivities
  • ensuring staff conduct aligns with the spirit of the festival.
  • maintaining safe, responsible, and family‑friendly premises

Any behaviour that undermines the reputation of the Fleadh or Belfast City Council may result in removal of Fleadh Friendly material.

 

5. Prohibited Uses

Businesses may not:

  • use assets for political, discriminatory, or harmful messaging
  • use assets in connection with alcohol promotions targeted at minors
  • alter or recreate logos, icons, or official artwork
  • use assets in a way that misrepresents their relationship with Belfast City Council

Use of any Fleadh Friendly material which is deemed by Belfast City Council to be prohibited will result in immediate withdrawal of permission to use assets.

 

6. Quality & Presentation Standards

Businesses must ensure that:

  • printed materials are produced to a high standard
  • digital assets are displayed clearly and professionally
  • Fleadh branding is not placed alongside inappropriate or conflicting content

Belfast City Council reserves the right to request removal of any display that does not meet expected standards.

 

7. Monitoring & Compliance

  • Belfast City Council may monitor usage of Fleadh Friendly assets online and in physical locations.
  • Businesses must comply with any request to amend or remove materials within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Continued misuse may result in termination of participation in the programme.

 

8. Withdrawal of Permission

Belfast City Council reserves the right to withdraw asset usage rights at any time if:

  • guidelines are breached
  • the business engages in conduct that damages the reputation of the Fleadh
  • the business ceases to meet Fleadh Friendly criteria

Upon withdrawal, all assets must be removed immediately from public view.

 

9. Liability

Belfast City Council is not responsible for:

  • costs incurred by businesses in producing or displaying materials
  • any loss, damage, or claims arising from a business’s use of Fleadh assets

Businesses participate at their own risk.

 

10. Updates to Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time. Businesses will be notified of significant changes and continued use of assets will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
