The Belfast Giants are pleased to confirm the signing of defenceman Morten Jensen for the 2026/27 season.

From Esbjerg, the 29-year-old Dane joins the Giants from AL-Bank Ligaen side Rungsted Seier Capital, for which, Jensen contributed an impressive 351 total points in 439 appearances in all competitions between 2017 and 2026. In addition to his long-standing affiliation with Rungsted, Jensen has also made a combined 70 appearances for Swedish sides Rögle BK, Helsingborgs HC, and Kristianstads IK, as well as HC Pustertal of the Italian ICE Hockey League.

Adam Keefe, Head Coach of the Belfast Giants, said: “Morten is one of the best offensive defencemen in Denmark. He skates well, competes very hard, and wants to win, which will help us get up the ice and help our offence off the rush. We think his skillset will fit in really nicely with how we do things here, offensively and defensively.”

Jensen has also represented Denmark on the international stage, making 47 appearances for the national team, nine of which came at the World Championships and five during the Deutschland Cup.

Commenting on signing for the Belfast Giants, Morten Jensen said: “I’m super excited about the joining the Belfast Giants. I’ve heard such great things about the organisation, fans, and city, so I can’t wait to get started and hopefully deliver more trophies this season.”
